Utemaster Load-Lid – is it Australia’s toughest hard lid?

By Dean Mellor 2 Min Read

Is the Utemaster Load-Lid Australia’s toughest ute hard lid? With a maximum load rating of 200kg, that could be an accurate claim.

The Utemaster Hard Lid has a 200kg load capacity. That’s right, you can pack as much gear as you can fit underneath this hard lid and then throw another 200kg of stuff on top, and secure the load using a variety of optional accessories including lashing rings, side rails, T-tracks, cross bars, tool-mount kits and more.

The Hard Lid is available to suit a wide range of dual-cab utes including Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-MAX, Mazda BT-50, Nissan Navara, RAM 1500, LDV T-60 and more. And there are one- and three-piece models to suit vehicles without or with sports bars respectively.

The Standard Hard Lid is a one-piece design and it’s manufactured from hard-wearing 3mm aluminium chequer plate finished in a Teflon-based matte black powder coat, so you can secure all sorts of things without fear of damaging it, from spare tyres and rooftop tents to bicycles and wheelbarrows. It has a slightly raised profile to maximise tub storage space and to prevent water pooling. It also features full-length rain channels to prevent water ingress, and an automotive bulb seal is fitted so that when the Hard Lid is opened, water runs off the back of the lid and not into the tub.

The model to suit vehicles with sports bars is a three-piece unit and offers all the same benefits of the Standard one-piece Hard Lid.

Like other hard tonneau covers, the Utemaster Hard Lid is lockable, and there’s an optional central-locking kit (with plug-and-play wiring loom) that mates to the vehicle’s factory remote.

Utemaster’s online configurator allows you to build a hard lid setup that suits your needs and budget. Head to the link below to find out more…
