Uniden has released the Uniden Dash View 30 and 30R, which provide a slimline and discreet dash cam solution for luxury vehicle owners.

The Uniden Dash View 30 features a 2.5k video resolution front camera, while the Uniden Dash View 30R adds a HD rear camera. Both have a 140-degree wide angle lens.

The Uniden Dash View series features Sony’s Starvis Image Sensor which provides back-illuminated pixel technology used in CMOS image sensors for what Uniden says is optimum video quality. Uniden says the Dash View can capture clear vision in bright and low light environments, with night vision capability. It has parking mode, where it operates in an energy-saving mode while the vehicle is parked to record any incidents that may occur while you’re away from your car. This can help provide evidence to insurers and authorities, which is one of the key reasons it’s a good idea to have a dash cam in your vehicle.

The Dash View features an inbuilt GPS with voice guidance control and speed and red-light camera warnings. It comes with a corresponding app so you can manage footage from your smart phone or tablet, with dual band Wi-Fi allowing for faster data transfer. The Dash View also comes with a 32GB micro SD card for localised storage of footage.

Uniden says the Dash View will appeal to “design conscious luxury vehicle owners” who don’t want a clunky dash cam to hamper the aesthetic of their windshield and dash area. Simply put, Uniden reckons you won’t even know it’s there.

The Uniden Dash View 30 retails for $399.95, while the Dash View 30R with rear camera will set you back $499.95. Click here for more information.
