I’ve been in this here Editor’s chair for a while here at Unsealed 4X4, and I’ve loved every minute of it. This mag is still Australia’s most read 4X4 publication and we’ve been proudly dedicated to delivering top quality, no bullsh*t articles since day one, and y’know what? We’re only getting bigger and better as time goes on.

But it comes with a slight negative (if you can call it that). Y’see, I’ve been so busy testing products, driving any number of 4X4s to any number of beaut destinations, editing the mag and building up Snoopy the Troopy that I’ve barely had time to do any big trips on my own in my own rig. And that’s exactly what I’m planning on doing.

Yep, the time has come to hand the reins over to someone else while I hit the road for a few months and tackle the big lap. Snoopy is raring to go and so am I! The next few months will see us tackling the best this country has to offer, and we’ll be ranging all over the Cape and the Top End – of course you’ll be reading all about it here in the mag. It just means I won’t be able to wear the Editor’s cap while I’m out enjoying the bush.

So that’s why I’m handing things over to Dex Fulton. This guy will already be familiar to a lot of our readers as he’s been in the 4X4 media game for a while now, and he definitely knows his four-wheel driving having owned at least one highly modified example of each of the big five brands over his wheeling career. Plus he’s currently building a pretty special Toyota which I’ll let him tell you about in detail, but I’ll just say the words “stretched 80 Series chassis, HJ47 cab, homebrew-turbo 1HZ and fully engineered on 35s” and you’ll get an idea of how much this guy loves his plasma torch and MIG welder.

As for me, I’ll still be around. I’ll still be contributing articles from both here and in the States, giving my opinion on what’s good gear and what you should steer clear of, and generally pulling no punches – hey, it’s what I do.

Oh, and if you see me out on the tracks make sure you come up and say hi!

Matt.
