Refreshed 2020 Ford Ranger to get US-spec lift kit?

The refreshed 2020 Ford Ranger is due in Australia in November, and it’s believed the updated 4X4 pickup will be offered with a two-inch lift kit as a factory accessory item.

Ford in the US recently released a two-inch levelling kit for the Ford Ranger that had been developed by Ford Performance. It also released a similar levelling kit for the F-150.

While Ford wouldn’t officially confirm the local release of the levelling kit, Unsealed 4X4 expects Ford Australia to make this dealer-installed kit available Australian buyers when the refreshed Ranger arrives Down Under later this year. The dealer-installed off-road levelling kits for Ranger include:

  • New aluminium FOX shock bodies are designed to provide ample cooling capacity over rough terrain;
  • New front coilover springs deliver optimal spring rate;
  • Vehicle-specific upper front mounts with polyurethane bushings work to help isolate noise and vibration; and
  • 2.0-inch front lift levels the Ranger from front to rear.

According to Ford, the two-inch front lift on the Ranger improves its approach angle by 21% (up to 33-degrees) and its rampover by 10% (up to 26.4-degrees).

“The elevated off-road geometry, paired with Ford Performance tuning, makes this a unique offering,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “The secret sauce to this kit is in the Ford Performance tuning. This suspension and its tuning are designed to improve off-road handling and responsiveness, specifically for Ranger”.

The kits, before fitment, in the US are priced at $1495.

Question: Do you think Ford Australia should make the levelling kit available in Australia?
