Hot or Not? Dual-cab Unimog UL1700L could be yours… the ultimate dual-cab?

Ever wanted to own a dual-cab Unimog? Well, here’s your chance to grab a hold of this rather rare expedition vehicle – a Unimog UL1700L.

We’re always on the lookout for the next coolest four-wheel drive to grace our screens, auction pages or Facebook marketplace and I think we may have just found a keeper. This 1989 model UL1700L dual cab Unimog has just hit the Pickles Auction page from the folks at Frontline Machinery. But it’s just a Unimog you may say, but it’s just a dual-cab Unimog we reply.

See, the dual-cab ‘Mogs aren’t the most common out there, and to be honest, aside from my time at the Unidan Engineering Owners Weekend a couple of months back, I’ve never seen one in the wild. Where they get interesting, is that as it sits right now, it is (or will be after the sale) complied and have a roadworthy certificate for five seats. Add to that the 12,000kg Gross Vehicle Mass, and the 24,500kg Gross Combination Mass, and you’ve got possibly the angriest expedition vehicle, that you can take the whole family in, to ever grace our shores.

It comes with all the standard Unimog trimmings, like portal axles, six-cylinder 5.7-litre turbo-diesel donk, 10-stud wheels, 44-inch tyres, diff locks, the works. This specific one has just 107,368km on the clock, is an 04/1989 model, and has a drop-side tray on the back, coming of course, in Australian Army camouflage paint.

If you want to have a look at more info, or even drop a bid on this beast of a rig, then head over to the Pickles Auction site here. At the time of writing, the current bid was sitting at just $33,250.00 with a little over five days until the auction ends. So what do you think? Is this dual-cab Unimog worth the dollars?
