The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is remanufactured to right-hand-drive by the Walkinshaw Automotive Group, and it is the first entry in the GMSV portfolio, with the Silverado 2500 to follow in late-2021. GMSV has also launched its new ‘Find a Dealer’ tool on the GMSV website.

“We have launched with over 50 GM Specialty Vehicles dealers and look forward to adding more,” Joanne Stogiannis, Director of GMSV said. :”Our GMSV dealers are now open for business in Australia and New Zealand. We can’t wait to see the first Silverados being driven out of our GMSV showrooms.

“We believe there is significant opportunity in Australia and New Zealand for our iconic North American vehicles to compete in niche segments,” Ms. Stogiannis said.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will no doubt appeal to those who need to tow big trailers thanks to its 4500kg maximum braked towing capacity and host of towing related tech features including Tow/Haul mode, Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist and Auto Grade and Cruise Grade Braking. Of course, there’s also plenty of power on tap thanks to the Silverado’s 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 petrol engine that makes a claimed 313kW of power and handy 624Nm of torque. The V8 is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and power reaches the ground through a two-speed part-time 4X4 transfer case.
