Ford Everest Catches Fire

By Unsealed 4X4 1 Min Read

Ford Everest catches fire – not what you’d expect on a test drive! News Corp Australia motoring journalist Peter Barnwell was road-testing a newly-released Ford Everest when all of a sudden warning lights reportedly started flashing up on the dash before the display went blank and the engine shut down. As the Everest rolled to a stop, the engine burst into flames, engulfing the vehicle. The fire brigade was on the scene within five minutes and had the flames extinguished twenty minutes later, and nobody was hurt in the incident.

Ford Australia is conducting an investigation into what caused the fire and will decide whether or not to implement a recall based on their findings. This could affect not only the 1000 Everests already on the road, but also more than 100,000 Ford Ranger utes, which run the same engine and electrical system as the Australian designed and Thai built Everests well as being made on the same production line.
