A magazine article revealing and detailing the 2020 Land Rover Defender in full has leaked onto the Internet around 24 hours ahead of the official reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The editor of South Africa 4×4 Overland Adventure is no doubt fielding some angry phone calls from Land Rover after a magazine article detailing the all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender leaked ahead of the embargo lifting on September 10. Unsealed 4×4 has been sitting on its own detail-filled reveal for a week or more – we’ll publish that tomorrow afternoon.

As you can see in the images here, the article has been shared via social media with these images coming from Instagram user, @soflorovers. There will be plenty of time to explore the new Defender in more detail and work out the things we like/don’t but the SA4x4 article reveals that while the looks will no doubt polarise some, the mechanicals should get the thumbs up. For instance, the payload is 900kg for the 110, which isn’t really a 110 but we’ll explain more in our own article tomorrow, and the static roof load is 300kg. The maximum braked towing capacity is expected to be a class-leading 3720kg.

There are quite a few elements on the new Defender that will have the aftermarket throwing up its hands but we’ll let you know more in our yarn tomorrow. Until then, let us know what you think about the looks.
